The world’s biggest phone, and Sony Mobile’s newest wonder device, the Xperia Z Ultra, will be launched in the UK on September 13 for a cool £599.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is a first of many things. For starters, it is the world’s largest Smartphone ever, with a gargantuan 6.44-inch display, albeit a beautiful Triluminos 1080p panel. It is also the first global phone to be announced using Qualcomm’s newest monster, the LTE Advanced capable Snapdragon 800 SoC. And this monster phone is coming to the UK on September 13 for a relatively affordable (for a device of such caliber) £599.
Sony has fitted the Xperia Z Ultra with the latest and greatest technology. The phone specifications include a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 6.44-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) Triluminos OptiContrast panel with Mobile X-Reality Engine (enhances photos and videos), an 8 MP Exmor RS camera sensor at the back (sadly devoid of an LED flash) and a 3000 mAh battery (which we hope gives it enough backup to last the day), all running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the latest Sony custom UI. Oh, did I mention, all of his highness is wrapped up in a 6.5mm thin omnibalance design body. Yeah, it’s slim… And sexy!
While it hasn’t been confirmed, word is that Sony will also release the Xperia Z Ultra in countries across the globe on the same date, September 13. Let’s hope that this bit comes true.
