VR-Zone’s Chinese website had the privilege to wield the newly announced Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet. Here’s a quick run through the hardware and the software (in Chinese).
Sony really pulled it off here. The company announced a 6.44-inch gigantic device (it’s a phone) powered by the fastest Snapdragon 800 SoC, with a brilliant Triluminos color 1080p display, insanely slim 6.5mm thickness and a refined omnibalance design that we have already seen on the Xperia Z and Z Tablet.
The folks over at the VR-Zone Chinese were fortunate enough to get to play with one of these babies (big babies) at the Sony Media Event held at Shanghai earlier today.

It has been reported that the Xperia Z Ultra phablet will go on sale in Q3 2013 for a (very) high price tag of €719. Quite steep if you ask me, but then again you’re getting top-notch hardware and so-so software (Sony still has a long way to catch up in that department).
