Get out your lightsabers and blasters, because Star Wars: The Old Republic, BioWare's first foray into the world on MMORPGs, will be free to play this weekend.

Starting tomorrow, 15 March, at 12:01am CDT (5:01am GMT/4:01pm EDT) and running until Monday, 19 March, at 2:00am CDT (7:00am GMT/6:00pm EDT), gamers will be able to try the Star Wars MMO for free.

Weekend Pass players will be able to role any of the eight classes and explore both the origin worlds and capital worlds of their class and faction, which cover the first 15 levels of the game. The cap is 15 for trial players, but 50 for subcribers.

Gamers will also be able to try out some group content in the form of the first Flashpoint for either faction: the Black Talon for the Empire and The Esseles for the Republic. Those who enjoy player-versus-player combat can additionally join in warzones like Huttball, Voidstar and the Civil War.

If you have been weighing up whether or not you would like to play this game now is the time to give it a trial run. You can also read our early review of it if you're not sure the large download will be worth it for you.

The free Weekend Pass is only available to new accounts and cannot be used in conjunction with other offers, including other trial periods. Some chat, trade, and crafting restrictions also apply.
