Striiv has managed to carve a name out for itself in the fitness industry over the years by producing reliable and solid fitness trackers. The Striiv Fusion Bio 2, is no exception. This nifty upgrade from the old Fusion Bio brings in some unique features that most other trackers in the market don’t possess. For $179, the Fusion Bio 2 is a decent midrange tracker that isn’t too expensive, but not cheap either.

Design

The Striiv Fusion Bio 2 comes in 3 different colours. You will be provided with all 3 bands and a tracker in the box. The Fusion Bio 2 has a touch screen with several pixelised icons that you can either click or swipe left and right around.

There are several screens, ranging from the time, steps taken, distance travelled calories burnt and your options menu.

The tracker can be popped off easily from the rubber band when charging is necessary, and charging can be done via a micro-USB cable.

Comfort is absolutely amazing on the Striiv Fusion Bio 2 considering its full rubber clasp is incredibly soft and flexible. This allows it to sit on your wrist pretty much 24/7.

Heart Rate Tracking

Apart from the usual step tracking, distance travelled and calories burnt, the Striiv Fusion Bio 2 has a 24/7 continuous heart rate monitor for you to check on your vitals anytime you wish just by swiping your touchscreen, which is useful when you are training, to check if you are in the right heart rate zone, or when you are at rest to get a better picture of your overall health.

Weight, Diet and Pill Logging

To get a better picture of your progress, you can journal down your weight everyday with the Striiv Fusio Bio 2 to see if your workouts or activity levels are helping you successfully lose, or gain weight.

It even allows you to track your food intake, which is quintessential to weight loss, considering you can always out-eat your training. For instance, a slice of pizza worth  climbing 2605 flight of stairs, and I personally wouldn’t want to do that in Singapore’s scorching heat.

In the 21st century, everyone’s popping a pill. From your daily multivitamins, to your Metformins for diabetes, supplements and medications have become part of our daily routine. Missing your daily dose of medications could be dangerous for those with chronic ailments. So the Striiv Fusion Bio 2 is actually capable of serving as a useful tool to help you keep track of your medications and to take them on time.

Smartwatch Capabilities

The Striiv is also capable of notifying you when you receive calls, messages and other app notifications. Although you can’t reply your messages using the smartband, it does serve as a good buzz to check your phone for important updates if it’s on silent mode.

Build and Water Resistance

The sturdy Striiv Fusion Bio 2 is made to last for a month without recharging, which is pretty awesome considering many mainstream trackers are built only to last for about 5-7 days.

It’s also IPX4 water-resistant, which means that its rain and splash proof. Bathing with it should not be an issue, but diving with it or submerging it under water for long durations is probably less than ideal.
