Tablets promotion @ COMEX Show 2011
If you are looking to get that Tablet device, well, you really need to drop by the COMEX Show. Now. There are some good promotions from the various vendors including the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, ASUS Eee Pad Slider and Motorola Xoom and we have noted them down in the next page.
ASUS
The ASUS Eee Pad Slider was announced in August, but it was only retailing officially at the COMEX Show. The Eee Pad Slider sports a 10.1-inch WXGA (1280x800) capacitive touch IPS display, and is powered Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, 1GB DDR2 memory with 15GB eMMC flash memory, It also has a slide keyboard for ease of typing. Other features include integrated 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth+EDR, high definition audio CODEC, stereo speaker, 1.2-megapixel front and 5-megapixel rear cameras, and up to 8hr battery life. According to ASUS, the Eee Pad Slider is preloaded with Android 3.1 though it will be upgradeable to Android 3.2 in the near future.
The ASUS Eee Pad Slider is retailing at a S$759 (U.P. S$899) for this show.
Samsung
Despite the lawsuit between Apple and Samsung, and with court orders that the GALAXY Tab 10.1 is forbidden to be sold in some countries (yet), the highly-anticipated tablet device is fortunately selling here in Singapore, and also at the COMEX Show 2011. Weighing just 565g and measuring 8.6mm, the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is equipped with 1GHz dual core processor, support for Flash Player 10.3, 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front camera, and preinstalled with Android 3.1. The GALAXY Tab 10.1 is selling at S$848 without contract and comes with free leather pouch (worth S$68) for the first 100 customers and free stylus pen (worth S$28) for the first 10 customers per day. If you sign up with the telco operators such as M1's Fibre Broadband 100Mbps plus Mobile Broadband (mData Lite) at S$75/month, you can get the Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 for free.
Acer
Acer is known for their range of desktop and notebook PCs, though recently the company also came out with their tablet devices. The 10.1-inch Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet incorporates Nvidia Tegra 250 dual-core processor, and comes with 1GB DDR2 memory (and 32GB eMMC memory), ultra low power GeForce GPU, Acer Nplify 802.11b/g wireless, 5-megapixel rear camera with auto focus and 2-megapixel front camera, and runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb. The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is selling at a competitive S$599 (U.P. S$799).
Huawei
The new Huawei MediaPad claims to be the world's first tablet to be preinstalled with Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system. It has an aluminium uni-body chassis, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 7-inch 217ppi ultra clear screen and supports 1080p full high definition video playback (up to six hours). The MediaPad is not available for sale yet, but at this COMEX Show 2011, you can preorder it at S$598 (U.P. S$628). For those who preorders will also get the mini-HDMI cable, carrying case and 16GB SD card for free (worth S$168).
