Apple Maps didn’t get off to a good start when it initially replaced Google Maps, but new data reveals that majority of the iPhone owners now use the default mapping service.
One of the biggest shortcomings of Apple Maps has to be the fact that it doesn’t display public transit data. Apple knows that too, and its actively recruiting engineers to fix this.
Its not unusual to hear that Apple is working on a secret project. The latest indication of such a project hints at the fact that it might be tied to Apple’s Maps service in some way.
Apple’s homegrown Maps service, which replaced Google Maps on iOS devices, didn’t get off to a good start. It appears that the company is hard at work to make the service better, it is currently in the process of hiring many full time experts in the mapping field.
