Closely following Sprint, T-Mobile USA has made Nexus 5 ETAs and pricing official. The latest “pure Google phone” will land in T-Mo’s online store November 14, with brick and mortar locations set to get the handheld six days later.
Following a genuine rumor overload that was cut short almost a little too late, Google Nexus 5 cravers are unsurprisingly faced with an availability news overload less than 24 hours after the phone’s glamour-free formal intro.
How much hype is too much? We’re probably about to find out, as we’re in the midst of a genuine rumor overload starring possibly the worst kept secret in Android history, Google and LG’s Nexus 5.
Hang on to your hats and get that popcorn popping, ladies and gents, because the Nexus 5 rumor parade is refusing to draw to a close. And the funny thing is we can’t look away. We just cannot.
As I’m sure you all realized by now, October 15, which many “rock-solid” insiders pinned down as Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat’s D-Day, came and went, with no chocolaty treats or Full HD-toting, pure Android-running hardware detailed.
Another day, another new Nexus 5 rumor to keep the never-ending speculation game going. Or in the case of today, another bundle of rumors, as the past few hours have seen the reports on availability and features of the next-gen “pure Google phone” downright exploding.
As a loyal, longstanding fan of the Discovery Channel show “MythBusters”, I’m sad to say I find no pleasure whatsoever in being able to debunk one of the stronger popular beliefs as far as the tech-focused media is concerned.
It seems hard to believe that a journalist with Taylor Wimberly’s contacts and reputation may get a story as big as that of the Motorola-made N5 wrong, but there’s increasing buzz of LG being Google’s partner for the next Nexus family member after all.
