As if the recent rumor bonanza was not enough to convince the world Sony is this close to rolling out an international version of the Xperia Z1 f dubbed Z1s, a likely accidental official confirmation of the phone’s existence has come earlier today.
All hail the first “maxi” phone wrapped in a “mini” package. Rumored for many months to be called Xperia Z1 mini, but ultimately likely to be released under the Z1S moniker. And as transparent as glass following an @evleaked presser and live image accidentally slipped by Sony.
Sony has something special prepped for November 12: international Xperia Z1 mini or 6-inch ‘Tianchi’?
Packing cutting-edge hardware and smooth as silk software into a compact-ish body has proven quite the challenge for Android’s top dogs. Except for Sony, whose 4.3-inch Xperia Z1 f has gone official a couple of weeks back with Snapdragon 800 heat, 2 GB RAM and 20.7 MP camera.
“Best things come in small packages” is what the elders used to say, but ask Samsung or HTC about the proverb and they’ll cut you off with a “bigger is better” retort. Not Sony though, as the Japanese have just brought to light the highly anticipated Xperia Z1 mini.
