Taiwan market: Yahoo launches free PC to PC VoIP service

Yahoo Taiwan on August 9 launched a free PC to PC VoIP (voice over Internet Protocol) service by offering IM (instant message) 7.0 for users to download.

Yahoo Taiwan integrated its original IM 7.0 version with functions of PC to PC IP phone communications and voice mailboxes and began testing the VoIP services in early July.

The company plans to launch PC to Phone (fixed-line and mobile numbers) services next quarter or in the first quarter of 2006.
