The Sniper holds its place as Gigabyte’s high-end board.
Intel’s Haswell refresh is right around the corner, and manufacturers are seeding their motherboards into the channel in anticipation of this release.
Gigabyte’s Z97 socketed G1. Sniper motherboard recently arrived in VR-Zone’s office for testing, giving us a chance to share with you a first look at the board.
As you can see the Z97 edition of the G1. Sniper looks very similar to the earlier Z87 edition of the board. For specs the board has four DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 32 GB of system memory, five PCI Express slots, six USB 3.0 ports as well as seven USB 2.0 ports, and Display port as well as HDMI connectors for its onboard graphics. One notable absence, however, is SATA Express which certainly would be a welcome addition for the board.
Expect the review posted sometime next week.
