Valve, developers and publishers of acclaimed game franchises (like Half-Life, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Counter-Strike), announced today that after four years and over 200 updates, Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is now Free To Play (F2P) for both PC & Mac players via Steam. Valve have also released "Meet the Medic," the latest in its series of TF2 animated shorts.

Hopefully this generous move by Valve will trigger a tsunami through the gaming industry and compel the likes of Activision and EA to release their golden oldies like Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare and Battlefield 2 in similar fashion.
