The Body Shop to launch the iButterfly Asia iPhone application tomorrow

Cosmetic company The Body Shop will be launching the iButterfly Asia iPhone app tomorrow, 23 September, in Singapore. This is the first time the app is coming here, following recent successes in Tokyo and Hong Kong. The campaign will be running from 23 September to 16 October, coinciding with the ethical beauty brand’s 35th birthday celebrations.

The iButterfly Asia iPhone app is designed to engage, capture and reach out to potential users via a paper-less "coupon entertainment". The objective is to catch the "butterflies" with each containing a variety of discount coupons, product giveaways and beneficial content. The application can be downloaded for free at the Apple iTunes App Store, and supports iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices (with iOS4.2 and above). It works withiin 150m radius of the vicinity of any of The Body Shop stores in Singapore whereby you can catch the "butterflies". These butterflies are air tags created using augmented reality and location information elements. The smartphone‘s global positioning system (GPS) and their motion sensors are then used to "catch" the butterflies. Once users have captured their butterflies, they will be able to redeem for free prizes and great discounts off products at any The Body Shop outlet. Each butterfly is unique to The Body Shop brand.

Throughout the campaign period, consumers can catch these butterflies using their iPhones and take advantage of iButterfly Asia-exclusive offers, including 10 grand prizes of S$500 worth of The Body Shop products. These special edition butterflies will make appearances throughout the campaign.

The public can follow The BodyShop Singapore on Facebook at www.facebook.com/thebodyshopsingapore starting 23rd September to get instant updates and how-to information on The Body Shop iButterfly Asia campaign.
