The Buzz is on Google

Reported by on Wednesday, February 10 2010 12:03 pm

It seems Google is looking to compete with Facebook in the social networking space with their newly announced Google Buzz. The Google Buzz claims to be the new way for users to share their photos, videos, updates etc, and is built on their existing Gmail accounts.

The Buzz is on Google

Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch. There's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most.

Buzz will be rolled out to all Gmail accounts over the next few days and will be made available to businesses and schools using Google Apps, with added features for sharing within organizations.

On your phone, Google Buzz is much more than just a small screen version of the desktop experience. Mobile devices add an important component to sharing: location.
