Gaming powerhouse THQ reaffirmed its commitment to place “creative first” by unveiling a new corporate vision and strategy at its New York Gamers Event today. Among the changes: a new corporate logo spearheading the company’s renewed focus on innovation and creativity.
Recognise this familiar logo? The old THQ logo that once adorned games such as Red Faction, Company of Heroes and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl has been dropped in favour of a new and refreshed logo that underlines THQ’s commitment to deliver the best experience to gamers worldwide.
THQ’s President and CEO, Brian Farrell, explained that the new logo is an effort to emphasize the change, innovation and creative growth that form the cornerstones of the new THQ. He also spoke of the need for THQ to develop original intellectual properties and attract top creative and industry talents in order to solidify its position as a publisher of “extraordinary interactive entertainment”.
The new THQ logo will be rolled out progressively over the next few months and will begin to appear on new product releases from February 2011 onwards, making Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Retribution (scheduled to be released for Windows on March 1, 2011) one of the first games to feature the new logo.
