Could the fabled iWatch be heading our way in 2014?  It’s a possibility, and it seems like Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, isn’t ruling out that possibility.

“We’ve got a lot more surprises in the works,” Cook said during Apple’s Q2 investor call.  “Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can’t wait to introduce in the fall and into 2014.”

The Cupertino-based Apple has seen its stock value slipped in recent months, but Cook is hoping that his tease of what’s to come will keep investors onboard and maintain consumer interests in the fruity brand.

“I assure you that we’re working very closely with manufacturing partners to achieve a very exciting roadmap,” Cook added.

Whatever Apple has in mind for its roadmap, it will certainly need more than an iPhone 5S or another iPad with Retina to stay at the top.  Various rumors have been floating around about an iWatch, and this product will certainly shake up the consumer tech game.  Although details regarding the iWatch are minimal at best, one can expect the Apple branded wristwatch to boast a touch screen as well as many functionalities that are present in the iPhone.

Another exciting product is the iPhone 6, which may be one of the first devices to sport a wraparound display.  Commercialization of flexible displays are still a little off, but display makers such as Samsung and Sharp are putting a lot of resources and effort into pushing for mass production of the next-gen displays.

Apple has got a lot to lose in the coming months, and Cook’s mention of “some amazing new hardware” will be met with much anticipation.  Let’s see if Apple can continue to live up to the hype.

Oh look, a bug!
