Titanfall will not be making its way to PlayStation, but its sequel might.

Titanfall game

Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen announced during EA’s earnings call that Titanfall will be a Microsoft exclusive title, and will not launch on other platforms.

“In the case of Titanfall, it’s a new IP, and it’s exclusive only for the life of the title on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and PCs,” he said.

Subsequently, a tweet from Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb confirmed Jorgensen’s remarks. However, it looks like this deal is a recent development as Respawn’s co-founder Vince Zampella tweeted later on in which he mentioned that while Titanfall was Microsoft exclusive at launch, he was unaware of the game being exclusive to Microsoft platforms for the duration of its lifecycle.

It looks like Respawn wasn’t in on the talks held between EA and Microsoft regarding the exclusivity of the game.

Fans asked Zampella if the studio would make games for the PlayStation in the future, and he said that the sequel to Titanfall will make its way to Sony’s consoles. Titanfall will be launching on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC beginning March 11, 2014.
