When screen resolution isn’t enough to excite tablet shoppers, Toshiba is promising that its Excite line of slates will deliver both Retina-like resolution as well as a screen digitizer (for selected model) to ensure every move of a finger or pen will be tracked.
Dubbed the Excite Pure, Pro, and Write, all three Excite models will feature a 10-inch display, with the Pro and Write to have a 2560×1600 screen resolution. Powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 processor, all Excite models will run Android Jelly Bean 4.2 out of the box, and have Harman Kardon speaker integrated.
For artists and professionals who demand precision, the Excite Write has the addition of a touchscreen digitizer, which promises to deliver a ‘pen and paper experience’.
The cheapest among the Excite slates is the Pure, which will cost consumers $299.99, and will come with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, as well as a 3MP camera. For $499.99, shoppers can step up to the Pro model that offers 32GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, and an 8MP camera. Lastly, the Excite Write will run for $599.99, and will have the same specs as the Pro except for the integrated digitizer.
Toshiba will launch the Excite slates on June 25 through Toshibadirect.com, and all other outlets following in early July.
