SINGAPORE, 8 January 2010 – Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, has unveiled its new advanced entertainment machine, the Qosmio F60.

Cementing Qosmio as a leading class entertainment Notebook PC, this new machine comes with Intel®’s new Core™ i5 and i3 processors, NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics processor, Blu-ray Disc™ 6x Rewriteable Drive, Toshiba Resolution+ and integrated Harman Kardon speakers for sheer entertainment pleasure. All these wrapped in a beautiful Brilliant Red cover, stylish grey interior and a speaker grille that runs just above its keyboard.

The Qosmio F60 truly stands out in the crowd – not only in design but also in its performance. Watch movies or play games on its brilliant 15.6” Clear SuperView HD display with LED backlighting powered by NVIDIA GeForce GT330M graphics processor with 1GB VRAM. Movie fanatics can enjoy their favorite HD movie with a Blu-ray Disc rewritable drive; and audiophiles will love its high-end Harman Kardon® stereo speakers in vibrant audio.

Toshiba Resolution+ Technology
Resolution+ is a super-resolution algorithm solution developed by Toshiba to upconvert videos and content in general with standard definition quality to near high definition level – no matter whether the video/content comes from a DVD in the DVD-SuperMulti drive or Blu-ray Disc rewritable drive.

Unlike conventional upconversion processes that simply upscale the image, Resolution+ downscales the upconverted image for comparison with the original one, and improves and enhances image quality before upscaling again to near high definition quality.

The Qosmio F60 sports a comfortable full keyboard with a numeric 10-key pad and backlit feather touch buttons that offer instant access to often used features such as playback and volume controls, mute, wireless LAN on/off, Power Saving Eco Utility and also includes a user programmable shortcut. An intuitive Multi TouchPad with Gesture Support enables greater flexibility to browse and control what’s happening on-screen with gesture-commands, such as two-finger pinch, swipe, rotate and scroll. For quick and convenient login, the Qosmio F60 comes with SmartFace Face Recognition software, while Toshiba ConfigFree utility facilitates wireless network configuration and online access via the embedded WLAN interface or via Bluetooth.
