Earlier on, TRENDnet announced that their 3-stream dual-band wireless-N routers will be making their way to stores some time this year. The TEW-692GR was on-track, shipping out to retailers in mid-summer. TRENDnet's 450Mbps concurrent dual-band wireless-N Router is the first router to support 450Mbps speeds on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously.
The TEW-692, like its predecessors comes in the usual plastic enclosure with a piano black finish. Its antennas however, are located on the sides instead of the rear, giving the router a uniquely squarish look. On the top right corner of the router is the Greennet label. Greennet energy saving is a feature that is provides up to 70 percent energy efficiency compared to those without.
The WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) button is located on top of the router. WPS allows devices to connect to the router securely with ease. On the right side, there are three 3dBi 5GHz fixed antennas.
The power jack, reset button, color-coded RJ45 jacks (1x WAN , 4x LAN) are found at the back of the router. The TEW-691 also features a physical power switch providing easy access to power cycle the router.
