1T Testing

Well as most Athlon 64 users know, 1T setting
improves performance quite significantly over 2T, but it is
also very taxing on the memory and quite a hit-and-miss when matching different
memory with different boards. From some users’ feedback, the Asus A8N SLI can
be a little picky with 1T setting when overclocking, so results might be a little
better with other boards.


1T/2T Timing: 1T
Cas Latency: 2.5
Ras to Cas Delay (Trcd): 3
Ras Active Time: (Tras): 8
Row PreCharge Time (Trp): 3

As seen from the graph, this setting can only be
achieved when
voltage supplied is 3.1v and above. That is the point 1T setting starts to work
with this board. We see a jump in clockability when the memory voltage switches
from 3.4v to 3.5v.

And finally, for the ultimate performance setting, we tried
1T with Cas 2.0, 2, 5, 2.

At these “killer” settings, only 3.2v and above would
run. We see that the overclockability jumps up from 219 Mhz to 240 Mhz when
switching from 3.3v to 3.4v.
