Twitter App For iPhone Officially Here
iPhone twitterers rely on Tweetie and other third-party Twitter application to tweet on the move. But if you don't like their offerings, good news is, Twitter has just announced their OFFICIAL app for the iPhone. And you can download the free app from the Apple app store today.
Twitter bought over iPhone client Tweetie about a month ago and the latest version of the Tweetie app was Tweetie 2 which costs US$2.99 to download. Well, its now no longer available from the App Store, replaced by the new official Twitter app. And its free.
The Official Twitter app, or Tweetie v3.0, does have some new features which include:-
- Search results now include Top Tweets
- You can search, browse users, and see trends and top tweets without having a Twitter account
- You can sign up for Twitter within the application
- Retweet and other popular actions have been moved to the main actions bar
- "More" tab has been reorganized
Twitter has also released for both Android and Blackberry devices earlier this month, and Twitter apps are also available on Palm's WebOS platform.
