Don’t pretend you’re not ecstatic right now by the news—I know that there’s a 95% chance that you’re one of those Facebook nuts that constantly perform “check-in.”  Okay, I’m just yanking your Facebook tie, but for some people, their lives revolve around Facebook—and that’s okay, I love keeping up with friends and family, too!

The new Facebook Camera app will come with 14 filters, allowing you to apply different visual effects to your pictures once taken.

In case you’re wondering what Facebook has planned for their recently acquired Instagram, techcrunch.com reports that Facebook intends to keep the Instagram development separate from the Facebook Camera app.

“As Mark asserted, we’re committed to building and growing Instagram independently, so I anticipate some healthy competition,” a spokesperson told techcrunch.com.

On another note, I didn’t mention anything about the Facebook Camera app for the Android platform or other smartphone platforms.  That is because Facebook currently only has the app ready for the iOS, and an Android port—along with other ports—will most likely happen.

When asked to confirm that the Facebook Camera app will be on other platforms, the Facebook spokesperson informed techcrunch.com that Facebook “don’t comment on future products… [but they are] carefully looking at what might make for a good Facebook photos experience across other platforms.”

Sad news for Android Facebook users, but don’t worry, what are the chances that Facebook will leave its Android users behind for good.  For the time being, Android users will have to put up with iOS user’s rant about how awesome it is that they can now share those precious moments in batches.
