Well, isn’t this a nice surprise? HTC’s still unconfirmed and unreleased One Max has been the talk of the town for as long as we can remember, with unofficial photos and bits and pieces of its spec sheet coming at us from left and right, yet today brings forth something unexpected.

HTC One Max Verizon branded HTC One Max surfaces, fingerprint scanner and removable back allegedly included

Unexpectedly pleasant, that is, as a member of the Android Central forums has brought to light two legit-looking pics of the One Max for Verizon.

What’s nice is, for once, Big Red doesn’t appear to have gone out of its way to plaster odd logos all over the phone, quite tastefully replacing HTC’s own branding with a teeny-weeny (or so it seems) Verizon badge between the back and home capacitive buttons.

Sadly, there’s no view of One Max’s back, meaning America’s number one carrier could have still messed up something design-wise. On the bright side though, the photos allegedly come from one of the network’s retail stores (in New Jersey), so the beast’s formal unveiling has to be right around the corner at long last.

Another piece of good news, albeit I wouldn’t take it for granted just yet, is that apparently the 5.9-incher will rock that gimmicky groundbreaking fingerprint scanner in its Verizon flavor, as well as a removable back cover.

Mind you, that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to easily swap the thing’s battery or expand its internal storage via a microSD card. Besides, the aluminum unibody was one of the primary reasons folks fell in love with the HTC One, so if the rear is now made of shoddy plastic, I’m pretty sure the One Max doesn’t stand a chance against its already solid Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or Sony Xperia Z Ultra competition.

Remember, rumor has it HTC has been forced to downsize in the processing power department also, only equipping the phablet with a Snapdragon S4 Pro chip. All in all, are you or aren’t you excited about this bad boy? Sound off below.
