Verizon’s FiOS will increase its current bandwidth offering as well as pricings.  FiOS will offer a new “ultimate” package that includes 300 Mbps downstream and 65 Mbps.  It’s currently unknown whether Verizon plans to replace its current ultimate package (150 Mbps up/35 Mbps down) or adjust it to a lower tier offering.  The lowest tier package of 15 Mbps down/5 Mbps up is expected to remain, but the 35/25 Mbps up packages will increase to 75/50 Mbps up, respectively.

Changes with regard to the pricings of the packages are not yet known. However, if the new 300 Mbps package replaces the 150 Mbps package, expect the new ultimate package to cost a bit—if not a lot—more.  The current ultimate package runs a cool $199.99 per month, and if FiOS current ultimate customers opt to keep their ultimate package—it may cause even more anguish when the bills come around.
