Vertu launches $10,000 Ti Android 4.0 smartphone
Smartphones are becoming more and more accessible to people of all backgrounds around the globe, but there are still a few that will always be a step (or ten) above all others in terms of affordability. One these handsets is the Vertu Ti, which is an Android handset that will make the wife go berserk if you decide to buy one.
The Vertu Ti is a smartphone encased in titanium, decked out with a sapphire crystal display, 18 carat red gold for the “high-end” model, leather (black or alligator ), and is completely handmade in England.
Craftsmanship and bling aside, the Ti runs on a rather outdated Android 4.0 OS with a dual-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 humming under the luxurious hood. Vertu claims that the 3.7-inch sapphire crystal screen is “virtually scratchproof” and that it’s the largest display Vertu has ever crafted. For the hefty price tag, you’ll also be getting 1GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM, an 8MP rear camera, and of course Vertu’s best-in-class 24-hour concierge service.
While many of us will naturally laugh at the price tag, there’s no doubt that a few people will actually drop about $10K for this smartphone. If you're feeling like this is the buy of 2013, please head on over to Vertu's website and put in an order.
