There is no locked
AGP/PCI frequency on this board and Abit gives the
option to select the dividers to use. FSB:AGP:PCI
from 3:2:1, 4:2:1, 5:2:1 to 6:2:1. Multiplier
adjustment is through the bios of course when
talking about an ABIT board.

FSB is adjustable from
100 Mhz to 250 Mhz in 1 Mhz increments.
Core voltage ranges from 1.1v all the way to
2.325v in 0.025v increments. That should be more
than enough core voltage for users to play with.

AGP voltage was more moderate, from 1.5v to 1.65v
in 0.05v increments. The maximum DDR voltage
available unfortunately is only 2.8v. That is a
little low

The Abit board is one
of the 2 KT600 boards which allows adjustments for
chipset voltage, the other being MSI. The default
is around 2.5v but I ran it at 2.95v without any
problems. It would be advisable to improve cooling
on the Northbridge when running a high chipset
voltage of course. This option will help out the
high FSB seekers so credit has to be given to Abit
for including this.

There are some extra
AGP driving control options on this board that are
unique from the others which may help in
stabilizing the overclocks due to an overclocked
AGP bus.

The Abit board worked quite well with my rams. I
could run 200 Mhz FSB 1:1 using most aggressive
timings with 2 ram slots occupied. It worked very
stably whether I used 1 stick of ram or 2.

You can run your
memory at FSB:Dram ratios such as 5:4 and 3:2 or
by SPD so you do not need the latest memory to run
this board. The memory tweaking options available
on this board is quite similar to the rest of the
boards as seen in the above screenshot but it
additionally gives the “DDR DQS Input Delay” and
“DDR DQS Output Delay” options for advanced
tweaking.

The benchmarks were performed with the most
aggressive settings available. When set to 200 Mhz
FSB, the FSB in reality is 203 Mhz as detected by
Sisoft and CPUID. It is a little overclocked at
default so I clocked it down to 198 Mhz which then
gave 200 Mhz for fair benchmarking. The bios
version used is the one that came shipped with the
board as it is the latest one currently. Here are
the ram settings used in the benchmarks for
reference.

I dropped the
multiplier to 6X, played around with settings and
243 Mhz FSB was the highest possible FSB I could
reach on this board. That is with the ram running
at a slower speed than FSB.

I got the best memory
bandwidth from the board running 233 Mhz
synchronous FSB but had to drop ram timings to Cas
2.5 and CMD 2T.

 I was able to
run 3D applications only up to 228 Mhz synchronous
FSB.

The overclockability of this Abit board is quite
good compared to the rest of the boards, but the
performance needs to be worked on a little.
Perhaps with new bios the performance can be
improved. The memory compatibility of the board is
quite good, running 2 sticks of rams just as well
as it does 1, which some of the other boards have
problems with.
