viewsonic 7x ViewSonic set to launch 7 inch Honeycomb tablet at Computex

Only a couple of days ago ViewSonic launched its ViewPad 4 and now we have rumours about a new 7-inch tablet from the company that will allegedly go under the name ViewPad 7x. It doesn't seem to have much in common with the original ViewPad 7 beyond the size of the screen, although we're not looking at a direct replacement either as the ViewPad 7 will stick around as ViewSonic's budget tablet offering.

The ViewPad 7x is said to come with Android 3.x and it should be powered by a dual core Tegra 2 SoC. It's also said to feature a pair of cameras, HSPA+ 3G connectivity, an HDMI port and DLNA support. So far there's no word on the screen resolution, but it will most likely be 1024×600, but we can always hope for an HD resolution display of some sort, in this case most likely 1280×720/800 rather than 1366×768. At 380g it's also going to be one of the lighter tablets out there.

We'll make sure to hit up ViewSonic's Computex press briefing and give you the full details as and when the ViewPad 7x launches.
