In a move designed to draw loads of attention to its new offering, VisionTek is
launching its 1GB portable drive to consumers for a net price of $ 99 after a $ 30
consumer mail-in rebate. "Other 1GB drives sell for over two hundred dollars and
they have half the features that we do," boasted Jeff Hoeft, product manager for
PC enhancement products at VisionTek. "Since we have the most feature-rich
product, we figured we could do mega business by having the best price too."

VisionTek’s Xtreme2 GO drives sport a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface for
significantly higher data transfer rates – up to forty times faster than
standard USB 1.1 portable drives. The new drives also feature the ability to do
a system boot from the drive, password protection and security lock to protect
sensitive data, a Microsoft Outlook utility to access your E-mail on the go, a
limited lifetime warranty, and toll-free technical support.
