There is no mesh covering the front of the GeForce GTX 580 Phantom's heatsink. Air gets pulled through the fins unobstructed, which translates to better cooling.

Gainward has employed six rather thick heat pipes to conduct heat away from the heatsink base rapidly.

Similar to the reference NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580, this card requires two PCI Express power connectors - one 6-pin and one 8-pin.

Four spring-loaded screws are used to secure the cooler around the GPU, while normal Phillips screws are used for the rest of the unit.
