Windows 7 RC and XP Given Life Extension
(Gadgetmix) Rejoice! as Windows XP and Windows 7 RC have been confirmed for life extension until 2010.

OEMs that are using Windows XP on netbooks will have the ability to install Windows XP for one year after Windows 7 general availability. Windows 7 RC will continue until Microsoft pulls the plug on 1st June 2010

Great news as netbook vendors may continue deploy Windows XP on their systems at a low price as Microsoft charges the license for a mere US$15 per system.

While it might be good news for those wanted Windows XP, the negative side will be the penetration of Windows 7 into the netbook market as the license will be more expensive.

Long Live XP ?
