Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update to have staggered roll-out from next month
The next Windows Phone 8 update, GDR2, is expected to be released in July. Earlier, Microsoft officials did confirm that the update will hit the devices later this summer.
Australian telco Telstra has disseminated the update schedule for its devices which mentions that it will be pushed to its customers in mid-July. The list of GDR2 supported devices include Lumia 920, Lumia 520, HTC 8X and HTC 8S.
The latest update will bring many useful features including CalDav and CardDav features so that it can work with Google contacts and calendar syncing services. It also features FM radio for Windows Phone 8 devices which was available in Windows Phone 7. The update will also bring DataSense feature to more supported carriers along with minor bug fixes and improvements.
