(Engadget) It is definitely interesting nowadays to see the “World First” phrase being used. Now we have another world-first – SSD based CD Ripping NAS.

Powered by Atom and running on Windows Home Server, RipNAS Statement series challenges the conception that NAS devices have to be hidden away, both for acoustic and aesthetic reasons.

2 models are available – Statement SSD (Solid State Drives no moving parts), or Statement HDD (more storage capacity)

Capable of handling multiple tasks – CD ripping, media streaming and networked file storage. The internals consist of a dual-core Atom CPU, 2GB of RAM and 4 USB 2.0 ports. The Statement SSD arrives in a 500GB configuration (2 x 250GB SSDs), while the Statement HDD banks on 2x 1.5TB hard disks – an effective 3TB total.

Clean design, the price has yet to be announced but don’t expect it to be cheap.
