A bloody and broken Xbox 360 has become the murder weapon in a strange homocide in Florida's Broward County.
Gaming consoles are involved in crimes form time to time, but this is the first time an Xbox360 has ever been used as a murder weapon. The strange homicide which took place in Florida has many odd things about it, least of which is the curious choice in murder weapon.
Darrius Johnson was stopped by police in Broward County as he was walking down the street with minor injuries. He stated that he had been the victim of a failed burglary, but when questioned further, he revealed that he had actually been in a fight with his girlfriend. When asked where she was, he stated “She’s in heaven […] I think I killed her.”
Police found the body of his 20-year-old girlfriend Monica Gooden beaten and stabbed. Her boyfriend went on to explain the strange circumstances surrounding her murder. Johnson claimed that he needed to “sacrifice” someone with a Taurus astrological sign, and that Gooden had control of his spirit. For the record, Gooden was not a Taurus.
At the scene of the crime was a bloody and broken Xbox 360 as well as a set of three knives. As Gooden didn’t have any defensive wounds, the police are concluding that Johnson either managed to overpower his girlfriend completely, or alternatively beat her unconscious with the Xbox before stabbing her.
According to a police report, Johnson had stated that his girlfriend “would not die” and that he was “fighting her like a dragon”. That is some crazy stuff… then again it could just be an elaborate plea of insanity. Johnson is currently being held in the Broward County jail, without parole.
