Xbox LIVE Gold free this weekend to raise money for charity

If you haven’t touched your Xbox for a while or don’t know about the event, then perhaps this might get you back in the swing of things.  Microsoft launched an event called “Gaming and Giving for Good.”  You can sign up for the event via g3.extra-life.org, and once a page is set up, you can start asking your friends and family to donate money to your charity page based on the amount of hours you play games.

That’s right, play video games and at the same time help out organizations like Miracle Network Hospital.  Considering the amount of people that turn on their Xbox every day, there’s no doubt that this event has the potential to raise a tremendous amount of money for people in need.

Major studios like Rockstar Games, Bethesda Game Studios, Electronic Arts, Warner Brothers Games, and Konami are sponsoring the event, so you know it’s quite a big deal.

Every little bit counts, and even if can't manage to raise any money, you’ll still be able to enjoy a Gold subscription for free this weekend.
