Microsoft announced today at Gamescon that it is teaming up with Activision to launch a Call of Duty: Ghosts console bundle.
The Call of Duty: Ghosts bundle will feature the Xbox One with Kinect, as well as a digital download of the Call of Duty: Ghosts game along with exclusive in-game content. In the U.S., the bundle is set to cost $559.98, and is available for order at online retailer GameStop, with a release date of 12/31/2013. Microsoft has also announced that the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts will feature dedicated cloud-based servers, which will use Microsoft’s Azure platform. Activision showed off a new multiplayer map called Chasm, which is set in a desolate city and features dogs, drones, invisibility cloaks and lots of guns.
Also revealed at the event is a new multiplayer mode, called Blitz. This mode has players from two different teams navigating to specific zones within their corresponding enemy’s base, and doing so successfully will give their team a point. The catch here is that players have to make sure that their enemies do not succeed in doing the same at their base. This mode is similar to the capture the flag events that were present in games like Unreal Tournament.
Activision has confirmed a release date of November 5 on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, and the game is categorized as a launch title on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
