In a strange and bizarre marketing play, Yahoo is set to launch its new logo on September 5 by changing its logo daily until then.
Yahoo is set to unveil a new logo tomorrow. And the next day. And the day after. This will happen all the way until September 5 until the new logo is unveiled.
That’s Yahoo’s cool and edgy way of releasing its new logo.
Here’s Yahoo’s take on it:
The new logo will be a modern redesign that’s more reflective of our re-imagined design and new experiences. To get everyone warmed up, we are kicking off 30 days of change. Beginning now, we will display a variation of the logo on our homepage and throughout our network in the U.S. for the next month. It’s our way of having some fun while honoring the legacy of our present logo.
Yahoo now competes with Bing, not Google, for the honor of being the second tier search search engine with Bing growing at Yahoo’s expense. For the geriatric few that actually still use Yahoo for search, these next 30 days are going to be a confusing trip down the rabbit hole.
