Zalman has launched the PWM Mate Fan Controller, a pulse-width modulation (PWM) based fan controller compatible with most 4-pin cooling fans in the market. Measuring 55 x 24 x 13.5mm, the hand-held controller is connected to the motherboard and fan via a 4-pin fan connector.

By supplying motor pulses of current instead of reduced voltage to the coil, the PWM Mate providew more precise control over the speed of the fan than traditional fan controllers (in this instance, the PWM Mate offers precise fan speed control between 25 to 100 percent speed). Featuring three pre-set speeds for auto-configuration, the speed of the fan is adjustable manually via the control wheel to suit the user’s preference. Currently bundled with CNPS-10X Extreme's package, pricing and availability for the standalone controller has not been determined yet.
