ZTE releases the Blade C and Blade III Pro

ZTE has launched two new smartphones. Aimed at the low end market, the Blade C and Blade III won't challenge the top phones but does offer good value for money.

The ZTE Blade III Pro is the sequel to the popular Blade and Blade II smartphones (also sold as Idea Blade in India). Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the new Blade III will hardly impress anybody, but then again it comes with an affordable price tag.

ZTE Blade III Pro Specifications:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 Chipset
  • 1.2 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex A5 CPU
  • Adreno 203 GPU
  • 512 MB Of RAM
  • 4 Inch WVGA (800 x 480 Pixels) Display
  • 5 MP Rear Camera
  • 4 GB Of Internal Storage
  • MicroSD Card Slot
  • 1,600 mAh Battery
  • Android 4.0 ICS

The poor battery size, low RAM content, low display resolution and old Android version really do make the phone look aged. All this can be had for about $193 which is still pretty steep for a phone of this calibre.

ZTE's other Blade (the Blade C) is another low end phone (and cheaper too) but does pack slightly better specifications such as Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Despite being cheaper, the processor on the Blade C is faster thanks to the newer ARM Cortex A9 architecture.

ZTE Blade C Specifications:

  • Mediatek MT6577 Chipset
  • 1.0 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex A9 CPU
  • PowerVR SGX531 GPU
  • 512 MB Of RAM
  • 4 Inch WVGA (800 x 480 Pixels) Display
  • 3 MP Rear Camera
  • 4 GB Of Internal Storage
  • MicroSD Card Slot
  • 1,600 mAh Battery
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

The Blade C is priced at a more affordable $165 (or 1,280 HKD).
