PhoneArena has for us a leaked image of the upcoming ZTE U988S, to be the world’s first Nvidia Tegra 4 powered Smartphone.
Nvidia Tegra 4 powered devices will finally see the light of day. While news reports say that popular Chinese phone maker Xiaomi is using the Tegra 4 chipset in its upcoming Xiaomi Mi3 flagship, ZTE is another popular OEM working on a new device using the troubled chip (hopefully the troubles are behind it now).
ZTE U988S specifications:
- 1.8 GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 Chipset
- 72-Core GeForce ULP GPU
- 2 GB of RAM
- 5.0-inch 1080p Full HD display
- 13 MP Rear, 2 MP Front Camera
- Micro SD Card Slot
- 9mm Thickness
- Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean
We are very much eager to see the world’s first Tegra 4 powered Smartphone. One area we are keen to explore is the chipset’s performance. We’ll find out if four of ARM Cortex A15 CPU cores clocked at 1.8 GHz manage to give the new and undisputed champion (for now) Snapdragon 800 some competition.
