Facebook After our "pin-mod" Core 2 Duo guide to boost voltages
on these LGA CPUs for limiting motherboards, we had some requests for guides
on the previous generation of LGA CPUs. So here is our "pin-mod" guide
for all Pentium-based LGA CPUs, from the Pentium 4s to the Pentium/Celeron Ds and Pentium Extreme Editions.
As usual, all you need is some electrical insulation tape and some conductive
ink.

Hi to all... I have E2140 with default VID - 1.1875... I read this VID from CoreTemp and from RightMark CPU Clock Utility... Can anybody make a pin volt mod for that default voltage ? Procesor Stepping is M0 and motherboard is ASROCK 1333 D667 Motherboard... Thanks...

So yeah I think I'm giving up on the physical mods. I bought a multimeter today and I must say that I suck with those things as well as counting the tiny little pins that are all so close together. Anyway I found the 8kohm resistor for my 6800 ultra and penciled over it but the resistance never went down. I Penicled it until it was dark black in color and it still didn't go down. (2B pencil) Then I tried penciling what I thought was the Vcore resistor for my mobo but that one didn't go down either. When I tried to boot I got a black screen...no beep codes so I think everything was loading, but I had no video. So I got out my trusty eraser and erased the pencils and magically it all works again. As for now I think I'm going to give it a break. I'm not sure what to do to get those resistances to drop and I don't want to completely break the system until I have a new one =).

Cool. Yeah I could tell he definitely knows his stuff. Everywhere I look he has an awesome post explaining how things work. There's so much information on this site that you almost don't need to ask any questions if you use search.

I try counting down from the circle but my eyes start bluring it etc. I used a flathead screwdriver the other day and placed it just above each pin to find the 8th one =). I'm probably going to go get a potentiometer in the next 2-3hrs. I have two more questions though. 1) I have an electrostatic wrist ban that I connect to the outer edge of the case. Is it dangerous for me to wear that when working with the voltage regs etc. 2) Are you a guy or a girl in Real Life? I wasn't sure if the pic in your avatar was of you or maybe your girlfriend. It's a cute pic.

The code on the Vreg chip is adp3168. I looked up phatics guide on finding out how to do it yourself. Pin 8 on the left side is the Feedback (FB) pin. My two problems now are a) I don't have a potentiometer yet b) I don't know how to find out which resistor to pencil since I can't really test the resistance or voltage 1) Is there an easy way to count the pins on the regulator chip? They're so close it's very very hard for me to count which one is the 8th pin. 2) What's a decent price on a potentiometer? I'm probably going to go buy one.

Hi guys. This is my 1st post here. I've been trying to overclock my processor with clockgen since my D865PERL is a POS for OCing. So far I have reached 3.2ghz stable from 2.8ghz stock. I'm at the point where I think I need to up my voltage a little on my Vdimm and on my Vcore. My temps are okay right now around 55deg C in max load. My delema is that there is absolutely no possible way to up voltage in the Bios on this board but it does monitor the voltages. Does anyone know a voltage mod for this board? For my intel chipset itself, similar to this threads mods? [[My exact processor is htp://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php] The Vcore runs at 1.5v instead of the 1.25v listed in this thread here so I don't want to do this mod here and toast my chip if it's the wrong mod. (My CPU has pins on it.) If not does anyone know a 4rd party application to increase voltage that will work with ICS 952618?

Hello I have aproblem with my E2160. I can`t find defauld Vcore. I had used RMClock 2.15 and it shows VID 1.325 but don`t recognized cpu - only genue Intel , Core : Conroe I had used RMClock 2.25 and it shows VID 1.212 but also didn`t recognized cpu - Genue Intel core : Merom I also checked with HWiNFO32 it shows VID 1.875-1.325 cutrrent 1.325 and recognized cpu as E2160. Cpu-z shows vcore 1.296-1.312 -- I know vdrop. Everest in Overclocking menu shows VID 1.325 Could anybody help me analize this becaus on intel web http :// processorfinder.intel. com/details.aspx?sSpec=SLA3H Core voltage is 1.162V-1.312V. I reale whant to try pin mod but i`m worried what will happend if i try wrong vcore mod. (Sorry form my english, I`m polish ![]()

Hi there, looking for a bit of info regarding this and the PentD 930 CPU. Looking at the chip I have a 1.2875 defaul vcore (RMClock reads 1.288) and looking for around 1.5 Vcore Looking at the guide it seems I need pic 2. Cant post links due to lack of posts ![]() Now am I right in my understanding that for this to work, the red links need to be taped then linked, and the green ones just taped ? Got the 4CoreDual-VSTA board and the D930 and looking for about 3.6Ghz. I can boot 3.6Ghz at default vcore but not very stable. Even better if I could hit 4Ghz, which would be 1066FSB with my ddr @ 400 (lack of vdimm on mobo. Ram needs 2.7@400) Pencil mod might get me to 2.9vdimm which would be ideal. Sorry to drag this thread up. Thanks in advance.
