LG Electronics (LG), a global leader in consumer electronics, brings the world’s fastest external Super Multi Blu-ray rewriter to Singapore. With the ability to read and write Blu-ray discs at 6x, the external drive from LG enables users to store large amounts of data at a record-breaking speed.

Sporting a unique slanted bezel design, the LG BE06 is ideal for home and office use especially to back-up large quantities of data files, photos and documents as it can record up to 50GB of data; equivalent to 9 hours of high-definition video or 23 hours of standard definition video (on a dual layer 50GB BD-R/BD-RE recordable media).

The new Super Multi Blue drive takes BD and HD DVD dual optical drive to the next level, with the a BD-R write speed of 6X, and DVD+/-R write speed of 16X. The new Super Multi Blue also reads HD DVD ROM at 3X speed and can be connect easily to any PC through a USB 2.0 connection. Combining cutting-edge Blu-ray technology with other optical disc formats, including HD DVD, DVD, DVD±R, and DVD±RW, the LG BE06 takes the complexity and guesswork out of purchasing blank media.

The LG BE06 will be available locally at major electronic retail outlets from April 2008 priced at $999.
