With memory pricing remaining at record low levels there's no wonder that the memory manufacturers are trying to convince its customers to buy higher capacity modules, although even those are appearing to be moving towards more affordable price points. Adata has a pair of new 8GB modules in its Premier series which despite the name is Adata's more basic memory modules and as such carries an affordable price tag.
SSD caching has as yet not take off, at least not that we're aware, although some of the first Ultrabooks seems to be taking advantage of Intel's SRT technology. Now Adata has announced its first mSATA SSDs which are as far as the press release is making it sound like, intended for use as hard drive caching SSDs.
ADATA started shipping its XM13 family of Sandforce-driven solid state drives (SSDs) in the mSATA form-factor. The XM13 was spotted at this year's Computex tradeshow, held in June, in Taiwan. ADATA is promising capacities and speeds comparable to SSDs in the 2.5-inch form-factor, and endurance that makes it fit for SSD caching on motherboards with mSATA slots and SSD-caching technologies such as Intel Smart Response.
Over at COMPUTEX, A-DATA has a rather interesting line-up of SSDs based on SandForce controllers from top to bottom. For the performance category, they have the S511 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s in capacities of 60/120/240/480GB utilizing the SandForce SF-2200 controller and Intel 25nm Compute NAND with 550/520MB read/write speeds. What is more interesting is that their mSATA and unique form factors that are used in tablets and super slim notebooks are also using SandForce based controllers.
Taipei based ADATA Technology, the world’s 2nd largest vendor of DRAM Modules, has unveiled the BN series of PSUs. These 80 Plus Bronze certified units feature active PFC and comply with the European Energy Using Products Directive (EuP) and The American Energy Star 5.0 standard. Available in 400W, 450W, 500W and 550W capacities, they can be purchased from authorized retailers and e-tailers now.
A-DATA Technology, well-known for their DRAM modules and flash memory products, has introduced the BN Series PSUs. Available in 400W, 450W, 500W and 550W capacities, these 80Plus Bronze PSUs feature a laminated steel enclosure, active PFC, two 12V rails, a MTBF of 100,000 hours, and are cooled by a 120mm fan. The ADATA BN Series PSUs, compliant with ATX12V Ver.2.3, EuP and Energy Star 5.0, are available through selected distributors.
A-Data has expanded its line-up of external HDDs with the addition of the CH11. The compact 2.5" external HDD delivers transfer speeds up to 90Mb/s (read) via a USB 3.0 interface and comes with custom tags (allowing users to label drive contents). Available in black, white or pink colors, they are expected to start shipping in Europe soon.
