EVGA used this year's CES 2012 to show its new line of power supplies. Unlike the trial from a few years back, this time the products are actually coming to market.
Here's a treat for all hard core enthusiasts - an engineering sample of the upcoming Xeon E5 (Sandy Bridge-EP 8 Cores, 16 Threads) was spotted by our team working on a ASUS ROG Rampage IV GENE motherboard, which was housed inside a small Thermaltake mATX lanparty box. This pretty much confirms internet rumors that have been going around for quite some time that the 8-core server part will work on regular 1P desktop boards, although not officially sanctioned or validated by Intel.
From the looks of it, the 2012 might be the year more known for patent and naming wars rather than the innovation itself. The return of naming wars might be interesting though, with Intel trademarking the Ultrabook name.

We haven't heard a peep about Mobility DisplayPort or MYDP for short, for nearly a year, a display interface standard that's intended for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. MYDP combines DisplayPort and USB connectivity over a single connector, much like MHL except for the small fact that MYDP has the blessing of the VESA standards organization.
The Nokia Lumia 900 Ace was recently spotted on Nokia Pulse website which has the capacitive touch buttons that are placed closer to the edge, compared to the Lumia 800. It was also reported that the Finnish company would be launching the phone at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas next week.
You may or may not be familiar with TransferJet, a technology that allows for short range wireless data transfer speeds of up to 560Mbps using the 4.5GHz band. So far there isn't much in terms of devices that supports the standard, but Toshiba and the TransferJet consortium are set to change this at CES where they will be showing off a range of new devices that supports the technology.
