Vote for your Singaporean tourist spots to be visited by Street View Trike
The Google Street View Trike (Tricycles) is one of the vehicles used to cover areas that are inaccessible by cars such as narrow streets and alleys. Last month, Google and Singapore Tourism board gathered over a thousand suggestions to be visited by the Google Trike. From now till 20 November, public can cast their votes for the top locations in the various categories that Google Trike will visit. Read on for the news release.
Google expands 'Gone Google' campaign worldwide
In August, Google launched their 'Gone Google' ad campaign in US - San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Boston. And the search engine giant is expanding this worldwide to London, Tokyo and even Singapore, just days before Microsoft officially launches their new Windows 7 operating system.

Eleven Years of Goog11e
On Sunday September 27 2009, Google, the number 1 search engine in the world, celebrated its 11th birthday with a new logo, featuring an extra “l” to the name Google (anyone saw it?). PCWorld has an article discussing the search and advertising giant’s eleven year history. For most users out there, Lycos, eXcite and Yahoo was probably the search engine of choice before Google made its debut in 1998. Google has certainly come a long way (thanks to 2 men, Larry Page and Sergey Brin) since its inception as a Stanford University research project in 1998, to the global, multi-billion dollar company it today is. Google’s a classic “rags to riches” fairytale if you ask me.

Google Chrome OS in the Loongson CPU powered netbook?
Netbooks and all-in-one desktops powered by Chinese Loongson CPU is expected to be powered by Google Chrome OS and will be made available as early as next month. Google, however, announced in July that the Chrome OS only available to consumers in 2010.

Google adds school-friendly features to Google Doc
Google has added more features to the Google Doc such as an equation editor, superscripts and subscripts and even translation that would be of use for users, especially students.
Google Rebuts Microsoft over Chrome Frame security
"Accessing sites using Google Chrome Frame brings Google Chrome's security features to Internet Explorer users," said a Google spokesman today. "It provides strong phishing and malware protection, absent in IE6, robust sandboxing technology [in IE6 and on Windows XP], and defenses from emerging online threats that are available in days rather than months."

Microsoft Blasts Google's Chrome-in-IE plan
Google has raised the ire of Microsoft by releasing Chrome Frame, an open source plug-in which allows people to run Google Wave from within all versions of Internet Explorer. For those who do not know, Google Chrome Frame is a plug-in for Internet Explorer that lets people use Chrome from within Microsoft's web browser. This allows users who are stuck with the 8-year-old Internet Explorer 6 to run Chrome, Google's Web browser, inside IE. Certainly good news for the many users still stuck with IE6 but apparently Microsoft isn’t too happy with it.
