Today the angels whispered in our ears that MSI is coming out with its third Big Bang mainboard. This time round, it's called the XPower. Gigabyte has their iconic "333," so MSI appears to be competing with an evil bath of sixes; 6 DDR3 slots, 6 Gb/s SATA, on a 7666 PCB.

Gigabyte P55A Boards USB3, SATA3 Issues Analysis

Hardware.info has some information about the PCIe bottleneck issues on Gigabyte P55A motherboards supporting USB3 and SATA3. There are 3 scenarios you could face using that board. One, your graphics card will run at half the PCIe bandwidth (x8) if you use USB3 or SATA3. Two, if your graphics card run at full speed (x16) or if you are on Crossfire/SLI (x8,x8), USB3 and SATA3 will run at half speed. Third, if you are running 3 graphics cards like tri-Crossfire or SLI+PhysX, you can't use x1 slots or the eSATA at all.

BIOSTAR gave us a sneak peek on their upcoming H55 board named TH55 XE supporting the Core i5/i7 processors with integrated graphics. It is a uATX board featuring “Dura Max” technology comprises of IR DirectFET MOSFET, Ferrite Choke, and Japanese Solid Caps and has 7 phase power design. Asus Preps ROG Maximus III Extreme Motherboard for Launch



Folks over at Nordic Hardware had reported that Asus is preparing the ROG Maximus III Extreme motherboard for launch at DreamHack in Jönköping, Sweden, this end November. Based on the LGA-1156 socket, this P55 based motherboard is the best in its league and features an additional PCI-Express bridge chip for two x16 links.
