Japan gets 450Mbps Wi-Fi dongle courtesy of Logitec

As Wi-Fi is evolving we've now hit speeds of 450Mbps, but to date you've been pretty much limited to using notebooks with a select choice of mini PCI Express cards to be able to reach those kinds of speeds. Now it seems like the first 450Mbps USB dongles are starting to appear and although we've seen a product from Trendnet already, it's not as small and portable as the latest model from Japanese Logitec.

Asus set to revamp its router line-up

With the mostly disappointing AMD news today, we figured we'd post some more positive news, well, that is if you care at all about routers. Asus is getting ready to revamp its entire router product range and it seems like the company got really fond of its "Black Diamond" series design as we're looking at no less than five new models based on the same overall design. The best news of it all is that Asus is finally ready to launch the RT-N66U dual band router, but the design has changed quite a bit since it was first shown way back at CES in January.

TP-Link launches its first dual-band router

TP-Link launches its first dual-band router

Wireless routers are a dime a dozen these days, but we're quickly moving towards faster devices and 450Mbps routers seem to be the next common standard, the current limit of the Wi-Fi standard. TP-Link is now finally joining the part with its TL-WR2543ND, rather than the TL-WR2843ND which we spotted back at Computex in early June. It's the company's first dual-band router, but it has a slight drawback compared to the TL-WR2843ND.

Planex introduces collectable WiFi dongles based off popular Japanese pop culture icons

WiFi dongles are supposed to be used as tools for getting online via a wireless connection and not for putting them up as exhibits, right? Well, tell that to Planex; the company has just introduced a new line of collectable WiFi dongles based off popular Japanese anime characters, some of which are cute enough to probably make anybody reconsider actually connecting them to a PC at all.

WiDi for netbooks might not be as good as expected

Back at Computex earlier this month Intel was demoing netbooks with WiDi or Wireless Display and Intel seems to call it interchangeably. Apple updates Time Capsules

Apple's range of Time Capsule products might not be the most exciting products in its range, but for Apple users they're among the easiest ways to create a backup of important data. Apple has added additional storage space to its Time Capsule while the prices have remained the same, which sounds like a pretty decent deal to us.
