The Pyro SE 120GB drive is a Sandforce SF-2281 based SSD, boasting speeds up to 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write. How does it compare against other popular drives already out in the market? The 2.5" drives, based on a new SSD processor (probably JMicron), feature 3x-nm NAND flash memory, a SATA II interface, TRIM technology support, 128Mb cache, a MTBF of 1,500,000 hours, and deliver data transfer speeds up to 270Mb/s (read) and 230Mb/s (write). Available in 32Gb, 64Gb, 128Gb and 256Gb capacities, the Torqx 2 is expected to start shipping in early May.

Patriot Memory has introduced the Supersonic Magnum, a compact aluminum flash drive with a USB 3.0 chipset featuring eight memory channels. Delivering sequential speeds up to 200Mb/s (read) and 110Mb/s (write), the shock-resistant drive is available in 64Gb and 128Gb capacities. The Patriot Supersonic Magnum is expected to start shipping come early April.
