

Sapphire today announced it is advancing application performance with stunning imagery through the introduction of the first commercially available 3D workstation graphics card with DisplayPort support. The card features 512MB of memory, Dual Link DVI Output and is expected to begin shipping in April 2008.
SAPPHIRE HD 3870 TOXIC version features the award winning - and SAPPHIRE exclusive -Vapor-X single slot cooler, SAPPHIRE’s implementation of Vapour Chamber Technology (VCT). The SAPPHIRE HD 3870 TOXIC has 512MB of high performance GDDR4 memory, clocked at 1152MHz (2.3GHz effective) and the GPU core is pre-overclocked at 800MHz.
Sapphire is preparing their ATOMIC version of the 3870X2 card for launch and is still working hard on pushing up the clock speeds. It has 1GB of GDDR3 memory, Dual DVI / TVO with Water Cooler. Probably, the cards will hit the retail markets in US and Europe by next month.

AIB partners are trying some ways to differentiate their Radeon HD 3870 X2 products from one another although all the cards now are BBA reference. For this coming launch, both ASUS and GeCube 3870X2 cards will come with custom coolers and have 4 DVI-out. PowerColor is also planning a 4 DVI-out version with Zerotherm GX810 cooling fan. More interestingly, Sapphire plans to have an ATOMIC version which employs watercooling.
SAPPHIRE has just announced support for legacy PC systems using the AGP graphics bus with a new product in its HD 3000 series which brings the latest graphics architectures and features to this industry standard platform.The SAPPHIRE HD 3850 AGP is available with 512MB of GDDR3 memory, running at 846MHz (1.7GHz effective) and has a core clock speed of 700MHz. It is a standard ATX format card, compatible with the industry standard AGP interface and with its slim fan assisted cooler the card occupies only a single expansion slot in the PC.

Sapphire has a Quad Crossfire demo up at their booth using two X1950PRO Dual cards. There is another demo rig without graphics card probably reserved for R600 later.
