Hackers who stole blueprints for Symantec's security and anti-malware software tried to extort a $50,000 ransom from the company, but the security firm refused to pay up.
Norton by Symantec has announced the Norton Tablet Security and new updates for Norton Mobile Security for Android users. Both incorporate the new Web-based Anti-Theft feature whereby users can remote locate and lock their devices via a web browser.
Syamantec is warning customers to disable its pcAnywhere remote access software due to exposed vulnerabilities in it after hackers stole the source code.
