Memory maker Team Group rolled out a revised version of the X101, a mid-range USB 3.0 flash drive. The X101 was first launched in May 2010, but back then despite its lower transfer rates, it was deemed a high-end offering. The new, redesigned X101 is available in capacities of 32 GB and 64 GB. It offers transfer rates of up to 120 MB/s (read) and up to 70 MB/s (write), which makes is roughly as fast as a 7,200 RPM internal hard drive, only a lot more responsive due to much lower access times.

Taipei-based Team Group Inc. has expanded its line-up of portable flash storage solutions with the addition of the SR1 and SR3 flash drives, Measuring 67 x 22 x 13mm, the stylish drives are shaped like sports cars and feature a USB 3.0 (SR1) or USB 2.0 (SR3) connector. The SR1 series, available in capacities of 8Gb, 16Gb and 32Gb, offers data transfer rates up to 54Mb/s (read) and 30Mb/s (write). The SR3 comes in 4Gb, 8Gb, 16Gb and 32 Gb variants, delivering read/ write speeds up to 30Mb/s and 15Mb/s. Both SR1 and SR3 flash drives, covered by a limited lifetime warranty, support power saving modes. They are expected to ship soon.

Measuring 59 x 17.7 x 7.7mm, the compact flash drives feature a “sandblasted and anodized” finishing, USB 2.0 interface, and support data transfer rates up to 15/ 25/ 30Mb/s (read) and 5/ 10/ 15Mb/s (write) for 2/ 4Gb, 8/ 16Gb, 32Gb variants respectively.
